RESIST WORRY LIKE A PLAGUE

(From the devotional: from the devotional "I Hear His Whisper" by Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez)
Never say, "It is my nature to worry," for I have given you a life that is carefree. Has worry brought you any blessings? I will take care of your tomorrow, as I have taken care of your today. Your relationship with me means that I will carry every burden that weighs you down, so that you can take my peace as your own. My love will take you through this momentary difficulty.

Beloved, you were created in my image. Created to look and sound like me. And worry was not a part of that plan, which is why it feels so horrible when you get sucked into it. I want you to choose peace. To resist worry like the plague. Worrying isn't going to make things better. It pushes you far from faith and slows down the process of your breakthrough, because you have trouble hearing me when you're anxious. Rest with me in the green pastures of my peace and drink from the quiet brook of bliss. Let worry be far from you-not one thing can disturb you as you rest with me.
